Meadowbrook’s Tiny Toons program for campers
aged 3 to those entering Kindergarten is like a camp within a camp. Tiny Toons have their own air-conditioned
changing rooms, their own morning assembly area and eat lunch in their own lunch pavilion. Each day when our
Tiny Toons campers step off the buses, they are met in our bus arrival area by staff that escorts them to their
groups.
Tiny Toons campers have a choice of up to four different programs. They can attend camp for our full day program either 5 days per week or 3 days per week (Tuesday-Thursday). Additionally, our 3 and 4-year-old pre-school campers can also attend our mini-day program for either 5 days per week or 3 days per week (Tuesday – Thursday). All Mini Day programs run from 9am – 1pm and all campers must be toilet trained prior to the start of camp.
Our expertise in Early Childhood from our Valley
Brook Nursery School, combined with our strong camping program, enables us to offer a SAFE, FUN FILLED and
UNIQUE summer experience for young children. Campers are under the careful supervision of a mature staff that
is cognizant of the social, physical and emotional needs of young children. Each Tiny Toons group is staffed
with 3 counselors including a female lead counselor who is often a teacher or mom of a Meadowbrook camper.
When taking into account the various specialists that spend time with our Tiny Toons campers, our camper to staff ratio for our Pre-K campers is typically less than 3:1 and our camper to staff ratio for our entering Kindergarten campers is typically less than 4:1.
Tiny Toons campers participate in many of the same activities as our older campers; however, they participate on customized facilities at a level designed for their age and abilities. Early childhood sports experts teach all large motor activities on specially designed, age appropriate facilities. Whether at Soccer, Gymnastics, Hockey, T-ball or Basketball, campers will learn their skills correctly. Tiny Toons campers also participate in a very wide range of creative programs, including Dance, various Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Chocolate and Native American Studies. They also take advantage of special activities just for them such as Music, Giant Legos, Playground, Kiddie Aerobics and Circle Games.
The highlight of the Tiny Toons program is swim
in one of our 3 heated pools. Swim instruction each morning is highly individualized with a goal of all campers
learning to swim before the summer is over. Campers learn their swim skills from Red Cross certified Lifeguards
and Water Safety Instructors. Full day campers also enjoy a recreational (free) swim each afternoon where they
enjoy the water with their counselors and friends.
Tiny Toons campers also participate in everything that makes summers at Meadowbrook truly special and memorable. They have morning assembly and all of the fun that comes with starting the day. They participate in each of our special weekly themes and they see all of the special shows that come to camp. All Tiny Toons groups also participate in the Meadowbrook Dance Show during the 6th week of camp. Like everything else at Meadowbrook, these events are customized to provide an age appropriate experience for our Tiny Toons campers.
Parents are kept informed of their child's progress in camp through our “Ask Me About” stickers, weekly Meadow Grams, Swim Reports, weekly Meadow View Newsletter and direct contact with our Tiny Toons Division Head. Our website is also constantly updated throughout the summer with pictures from the camp day.
