Roz & Jed Buck – Owners/Directors
There is something special about having a husband and wife team with a love for children overseeing every detail of the camp operation. Roz and Jed bring that special care as the on-site Owners/Directors of Meadowbrook Country Day Camp. Each and every day at Meadowbrook, they bring their love for children and camp together to create special memories for Meadowbrook families. As parents and proven childhood specialists, they create a special connection with both campers and staff that is truly unique.
Their story is a camp fairytale.meeting as teenage counselors working at a NJ day camp and now sharing every day of camp with your children. Over the past 25 years, Roz has held many day camp leadership positions. She has also been a member of the teaching staff of the West Orange Jewish Community Center in their Early Childhood Department and has held many volunteer leadership positions within the Millburn Township School District. Roz is an active member of the American Camp Association and their Summer Camp Opportunities Provide an Edge (S.C.O.P.E.) program that helps send underserved children to residential camps.
Jed has held a variety of positions, both paid and volunteer, working with children since 1979. His experience includes camp leadership roles, many years of coaching for the Millburn-Short Hills Recreation Department and Little League, as well as various other volunteer positions within the community. In addition to his work with children, Jed brings a successful background in business as President of a New York City based privately held media company. He has also worked for Capital Cities/ABC and The Procter & Gamble Company. Jed is a leader in the N.J. camp industry, serving as a board member for the N.J. Section of the American Camp Association. He also serves as a Standards Visitor helping other camps earn/renew their ACA Accreditation and sits on the Standards Committee for the state.
Roz is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Jed graduated Magna Cum Laude from Syracuse University. They reside in Millburn with their 20-year-old daughter Melanie and 17-year-old son Marc.
Roz and Jed are the next generation of experienced Camp Directors. Every day you can find them out of the camp office and highly involved across the Meadowbrook campus forming personal bonds with the campers and staff and helping to create positive "indelible" summer memories.
